U.S. Army & Joint Services Records
Research Center (JSRRC)

The JSRRC:

  • is committed to providing thorough and comprehensive research in order to ensure that veterans get the benefits they deserve,
  • researches all available Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard unit records in order to document a veteran's stressors. This documentation is used in PTSD claims,
  • researches records only if the veteran has stated specific stressors. Copies of records are provided only as they apply to the specific stressors as described in the PTSD claim.

    The JSRRC does not:

  • research records in order to provide stressors,
  • provide general historical documentation nor copies of records for large periods of time without a specific incident,
  • determine who the veteran knew or what the veteran personally witnessed and experienced,
  • obtain statements from former commanders, supervisors, family, or friends,
  • provide opinions, medical or clinical treatment, recommendations, evaluations, conclusions, or decisions, concerning the merits of PTSD claims.
